Reflexology techniques focus on applying pressure to specific areas of the body. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the technique can restore the natural flow of energy (or ‘chi’) through the body, restoring balance and reducing stress.
Sports & Remedial massage treats the soft tissues of the body including muscles, fascia and tendons with the aim to aid recovery, relieve pain and improve posture and movement. A range of techniques are used within the session to reduce the tension in the soft tissues. These include traditional massage, trigger point release as well as movement based therapies. A treatment plan will be created after assessment. This treatment can help with lots of common injuries & conditions.
Relax the body and mind with a Swedish massage focused on relaxation. Swedish massage is a therapeutic massage treatment that works the soft tissues and muscles to help restore health – creating a calming and balancing effect on the nervous system. This can be a full body treatment or tailored to your needs.
My deep tissue massage will target tight muscles and areas of tension. This treatment includes strokes similar to those of Swedish massage, but applied specifically to muscle areas that need work and usually with firmer pressure. Ideal if you have an active lifestyle or specific areas of tension.
I chose to train in pregnancy massage after watching my friends suffer though the aches and pains of pregnancy and feeling very frustrated not being able to help. Pregnancy massage is similar in many ways to a “normal” massage, the main difference being that massage techniques used in pregnancy are adapted to maintain the wellbeing of mother and child. Techniques vary from firmer massages to relieve discomfort, or softer massages to help relax the expectant mother.
